My daughter never ceases to amaze me. Not only is she perfectly adorable and a borderline genius (I'm biased, wanna make something of it?) but she is also hands down one of the funniest people ever. That includes many adults I know.
I could watch her walk around for hours, talking to herself, laughing at nothing, finding joy in the smallest things. It's hysterical. She's a live action sitcom.
She also finds the most random things. One minute she was playing in the living room and the next she was walking out of her bedroom with an empty paper towel tube and a pacifier I've never seen before, and I buy the damn things. WHERE did it come from? Where does a one year old get an empty paper towel tube and where does she hide it in her room? It's like there's a little door I know nothing about and every once in awhile she reaches in and pulls out something and says to herself "I think I'll show this to mom just to freak her out". It works. Every time.
So, last weekend I tried my hand at some cake balls. A recipe I found on this blog. It was my friend's bday and us ladies were going out for a nice dinner and lots of drinks. I wanted to make something that would be easy to eat and not too messy.
I made red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting balls and chocolate cake with buttercream frosting balls as well.
The chocolate balls came out very nice. Red velvet was a little more difficult to deal with for some reason and I ended up giving up about halfway through and not making as many. I didn't have a lot of time and they were being a pain in the ass. I took pictures of the process but not the finished project so I'm not even going to bother posting any.
I would probably make them again but it's not something I'd do on a regular basis. They're messy and take too much time. I'm not a patient woman.
And while I'm on a blogging roll, let me complain about something. I think mini skirts with Uggs looks ridiculous. Why are you wearing snow boots with a short skirt when it's 90 degrees outside? I don't get it. Logically, it's stupid and it's not very cute either so I can't even accuse it as a fashion statement
